Our client is a rapidly growing private credit opportunities team within a NY-based global credit fund. They would like to find an Associate or newly minted VP for their small non-sponsor bespoke credit team focused on collateral-based financings. The team invests in credit situations where the borrower has unique assets like loan portfolios, IP, and equipment. They have a collegial culture, and strong performers will have the freedom to take on significant responsibility. The Associate or VP will quarterback underwriting and must be able to diligence the underlying assets and work with more complex credit docs. All team members are industry generalists. The PMs will provide the mentorship needed for career advancement and promotion. The team’s small size leaves room for moving up in the organization. The staff participates in the Investment Committee process.
The strongest candidates have 5-10 years of total experience including 1-2 years in an investment banking program. Candidates may come from a variety of credit backgrounds, but a non-sponsor private credit background would be a plus. The role requires a smart, ambitious, and energetic person with an outstanding financial skill set, detailed approach to work, the ability to understand businesses, and excellent communication skills. The team prefers strong undergraduate GPA and standardized test scores. This is a rare chance to join a growing credit fund within an established credit organization. Salary: $150-200,000.
