18. Principal, Technology Special Situations (San Francisco)

Our client, a $1billion special situations fund, uses a systematic, value driven approach to buying/financing private tech companies that can’t meet the investment mandates of VCs or are generally overlooked in the market. The fund has a unique deal origination system, a team of senior investors with expertise in special situations structuring, and unparalleled ties to Silicon Valley. The team runs the business as a true meritocracy with a clear path to partnership. The Principal will source, evaluate, and underwrite mainly credit investments and will represent the fund on Boards. The Principal should be able to capitalize on the fund’s network and build and cultivate diverse, long-term relationships. The Principal will help with sourcing leverage for companies in the portfolio and fundraising for the organization. A strong performer can have a rapid progression to partner.

Qualified candidates should have at least eight years of finance experience with a minimum of three years of buyside experience in a credit hedge fund or private debt fund. The Principal should be adept at assessing companies to determine viability. The Principal needs deep familiarity with complex deal structuring and underwriting processes across the capital structure. The fund is looking for someone who can communicate complex information effectively and has the intelligence, EQ, and personality to help build a positive and fun environment for investing. The fund wants a contrarian thinker with a high level of integrity and a desire to collaborate within a team. This is a partnership track role based on merit rather than tenure with the fund. The team has a deep commitment to diversity with the belief that diversity makes them better. Diverse candidates are strongly encouraged to apply. Qualified candidates may forward a resume to our website. All inquiries will be treated confidentially.
