Principal-Level Sector Analyst, Distressed Credit Fund – New

Our client is a well-established distressed credit fund in NYC with long locked up capital.  They would like to add a distressed analyst to its credit, distressed and special situations team.  The fund invests in credit (leveraged loans, high yield bonds, specialty financings and structured products), distressed strategies and special situations.  The Principal will take a leading role in all aspects of transaction development and execution including idea origination, initial assessment, deep due diligence, structuring, negotiations and execution.  The Principal will assume sector coverage and previous expertise in Healthcare, Consumer or TMT would prove helpful. The role also involves the management and mentoring of a deep bench of talented junior research analysts.  The Principal will also participate in all aspects of managing strategic initiatives for portfolio companies.

Top candidates should have 7-10 years of relevant experience beyond earning a Bachelor’s degree.  Backgrounds should include participation in a two year analyst program within a reputable investment bank, boutique or fund followed by 5-7 years of experience investing in credit, distressed strategies, and/or special situations.  An MBA or MS Finance is a plus but not required.  Candidates need outstanding modeling and financial analysis skills along with superior ability to communicate verbally and in writing.  Candidates should demonstrate the critically thinking skills, demonstrate attention to detail, and work independently and as part of a team.  This is a career track opportunity to work in a collegial and collaborative team of top quality investors.  Qualified candidates may forward a resume, preferably in Word, to our website.  All inquiries will be treated confidentially.
