Principal-Level Litigation Analyst, Distressed Credit Fund – Updated
Our client is a well-established distressed credit fund in NYC with long locked up capital. They would like to add an experienced litigation analyst to their credit, distressed and special situations team. The fund invests in credit (leveraged loans, high yield bonds, specialty financings and structured products), distressed strategies and special situations. The Principal Litigation Analyst will take a leading role in litigation strategies for transaction development, execution, idea origination and on-going portfolio strategy. The Principal Litigation Analyst will provide management and mentoring of a deep bench of talented junior research analysts in specific transactions, portfolio management and general strategy. The Principal will also take a leading role in the transaction execution process including the negotiations of legal documents and other transaction -related materials.
Top candidates may come from a couple of different backgrounds. Candidates may have 2-4 years of experience in the Restructuring Department of a major law firm plus 2-5years of experience in investment banking, credit or another financial role. Additionally, candidates may have 2-4 years of experience as a lawyer plus up to 5-7 years in a distressed credit fund engaged in litigation- oriented investing. Candidates need outstanding modeling and financial analysis skills along with superior ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Candidates should demonstrate the critically thinking skills and attention to detail and work independently and as part of a team. The Litigation Principal should have the ability to collaborate with others to solve complex problems and use legal judgement to identify and pursue innovative solutions.
