Managing Director, Special Situations Credit Fund
Our client, a NY-headquartered fund with more than $10 billion AUM, needs a Managing Director with at least 10 years of buy side experience in public and private opportunistic and special situations credit. The candidate will source/originate, analyze and execute private investments and opportunistic secondary purchases of debt and equity for the firm’s special situations and tactical strategies. The role involves leading the investment process including primary due diligence, financial analysis, and industry research on potential investment opportunities; negotiation of investment terms with counterparties; managing and monitoring existing investments (including representing the Firm as a Board Member or Observer); creating, assisting and overseeing investment memoranda and presenting to internal committees. The Investor will take an active role in the capital raising activities of firm’s funds, including interacting with existing and prospective investor clients. The Investor will also manage and mentor junior analysts.
Candidates should have buy side opportunistic and special situations credit investment experience in private and public markets from performing to distressed, as well as early investment banking experience, especially in restructuring. Candidates need a flexible investment approach to take advantage of an evolving investment landscape.
