LIFE SCIENCES ANALYST, SPECIAL SITUATIONS FUND
Our client, a Midtown-based $1billion investment fund, takes a deep value approach to investing in distressed and special situations public and private debt and equity, across all sectors. They have a differentiated and exceptionally successful approach to investing in late stage and mature life sciences opportunities with a dedicated team who have complementary education in science. While the fund invests more heavily in special situation credit, the life sciences team focuses more on equity. The fund has a supportive culture with little to no staff turnover. The team’s analysts are humble and open-minded with deep intellectual curiosity and critical thinking skills. The strongest candidates may come from either a life sciences or special situations private equity or public markets fund and probably has 4-6 years of experience, which may include two years as an investment banking analyst. Candidates should enjoy looking at mature names where there are opportunities for commercialization and repurposing of the science. Candidates need excellent valuation and modeling skills, the ability to communicate effectively, and fit culturally with the team. The role requires intellectual integrity and the ability to learn quickly. Analysts must have a track record of academic achievement and career success.
