ASSOCIATE – SPECIAL SITUATIONS ORGINATIONS, MULTI-STRATEGY FUND – New
Our client, a $40 billion plus alternative asset manager in Midtown, would like to add an Associate to its Originations Team. The Associate will start out supporting the head of U.S. Originations with analytical work to assess the value of new investment opportunities in coordination with the execution team. With on-going mentorship, the Associate will shift over time to sourcing- related activities with a clear path to an originator role. The role focuses on originating and structuring direct, complex debt and equity investments in private and public, performing, and distressed middle-market companies, as well as structured products. The Associate will participate in idea generation, due diligence, document drafting and negotiations with counsel, building and maintaining relationships with referral sources, and maintaining the deal pipeline. The Associate will work across asset classes, structures, and geographies. The team member will have the opportunity to attend industry conferences and meet with management teams.
The strongest candidates have up 6-7 years of experience comprised of investment banking, leveraged finance, restructuring advisory, private credit, and/or private equity, with a preference for special situations credit experience. Candidates should have strong underwriting/modeling skills. Candidates should be able to work on multiple transactions in an entrepreneurial culture. The role requires someone with an affable personality, strong communication skills, a humble demeanor, and a serious interest in deal origination work. Candidates must be comfortable meeting with management teams. Salary range is $150,000 to $175,000 + bonus. Qualified candidates may forward a resume to our website.
