Associate/Senior Associate, Special Situations Credit Fund
Our client, a growing special situations credit fund within an established investment management firm, would like to add Associates and Senior Associates to their team in midtown NYC. The Associate/Senior Associate will work on Special Situations Credit including, but not limited to, investments in highly structured solution-based financings, ‘stressed’ investments via the secondary bond and loan markets, and deep value credit. The Associate/Senior Associate will work in a small team that evaluates investment opportunities, conducts research, develops recommendations, participates in the negotiation and execution of investments and monitors and manages investments. The Associate/Senior Associate will conduct complicated due diligence under a compressed timeline, contribute to deal sourcing activities and work directly with external stakeholders.
Candidates should have completed 1-2 years in an investment banking analyst program, preferably in Restructuring, and an additional 2-4 years in a distressed/special situations/stressed buyside role. Our client will also consider candidates with two years of buy side experience in a special situations strategy in lieu of the investment banking experience. This role requires strong research, financial modeling, analytical and valuation skills. We will also consider candidates with a JD/MBA joint degree who have no more experience than 1-2 years of special situations or distressed on the buyside. Candidates with private debt acquisition finance background will not be considered. This is a collegial team in a collaborative organization and there is significant opportunity for long term career growth across their organization. The strongest candidates must demonstrate an affable personality, intellectual curiosity and strong written and verbal communications skills. Qualified candidates may forward a resume, with GPA and SAT scores, to our website. All inquiries will be treated confidentially.
Please note: You only need to submit your resume once. You will be considered for all open positions. Do not submit your resume to other jobs after submitting once.
