Associate, Opportunistic Credit Fund
Our client, a well-established multi-billion dollar opportunistic credit fund, would like to add an Associate to their NYC team. The candidate will focus on the execution of private investments and opportunistic secondary purchases of debt and equity for the firm’s special situations and tactical strategies. Our client has a multi sector focus with a broad mandate across corporate lending, specialty finance, and real assets. The Associate will create dynamic financial models to value investments, project returns, and perform scenario analysis, as well as conduct primary due diligence, and industry research on potential investments. He/she will participate in creating the investment memoranda and present to internal committees, as well as manage and monitor existing investments.
The ideal candidates will have 2-3 years of investment banking experience (Restructuring or Leveraged Finance) plus an additional 1-2 years of private or public debt experience from leading firms. The Associate must have exceptional financial modeling, accounting and valuation skills as well as experience working with credit documents and leading due diligence processes. Candidates should be self-starters and team players with strong communication, organizational and problem solving skills. Candidates must have the ability to construct concise, persuasive verbal and written investment opinions in timely manner. Candidates should have a strong desire to develop and expand network relationships within the investment community.
