Our NYC- based client has an outstanding track record of returns on its strategy of investing in undervalued middle market public companies.  They pursue a collaborative approach with the portfolio companies to implement improvements and drive alpha.  The analyst will also provide diligence on potential merger candidates for the fund’s SPACs.  Investment analysis involves doing deep-dive research to identify undervalued names where operational changes can positively affect stock prices.  The fund has more than $2Billion AUM and continues to add assets.  The fund also has a series of successful SPACs.  They would like to find an outstanding Associate-level Analyst for their team. The Analyst will work closely with the senior investment staff who will provide meaningful mentoring.

The strongest candidate has 1-3 years of experience including 1-2 years in a reputable 2-year Analyst Investment Banking.  Some background in healthcare, fintech or “big data/AI” analysis would be a plus but not a requirement.  No MBAs please.  The Analyst should enjoy developing a deep and thorough understanding of a company’s business, financials, and operations, along with the environment in which they operate.  The Analyst will do extensive modeling and financial analysis with fine attention to detail. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills are also important.  The candidate should be intellectually curious and eager to learn, with the ability to work independently.  The work environment is respectful of personal time.  This is a career track role and the fund has a strict “no jerks” policy.
