37. Associate, Special Situations Fund

Our client is a multi-billion special situations fund with long term locked up capital and a highly regarded senior team of investors with decades of experience in special situations credit and equity. They have an open mandate to invest in primary and secondary private and public credit and private equity focused on the US and Western Europe. The Associate will work closely with the senior team and take on increasing amounts of responsibility in a flat organizational structure. The strongest associate candidates have 1-3 years of experience in a well-respected investment banking analyst program specializing in Leveraged Finance, M&A, Restructuring, or a sector team. Additionally, the candidate must have at least one year in a buyside role with a private equity team, non-sponsor focused private debt group, or special situations/hybrid value fund. We cannot consider long /short or growth equity backgrounds. Candidates need rigorous fundamental underwriting skills and excellent ability to communicate verbally and in writing. This is a career-track opportunity with no requirement to return to school for an MBA. Candidates should have a track record of professional success, a strong academic background from a major college or university, and deep intellectual curiosity.
