Our client is a $1.5B special situations activist fund with presence in NY and London. They manage complex investments with a focus on event driven, special situations, and activist equities and credit. The organization has a flat structure and a collaborative approach to decision making. They invest globally in Europe, Asia and the US which means that activism considers cultural differences. The fund wants to add an experienced investment professional to help broaden its ability to invest in the US/North America across its various strategies. This includes origination, modeling, and developing actionable investment ideas; working closely with senior staff to refine investment theses and size positions; stress testing and where appropriate, recommending ways to hedge risk. The fund runs industry-agnostic but sector expertise in technology would be a plus. The strongest candidates have 7-8 years of total experience which includes an Analyst program in a leading investment bank or investment fund. The role requires a commercial approach to idea generation, outstanding research and modeling skills, and strong written and verbal communication ability. Candidates should have an energetic approach to work, deep intellectual curiosity, and a desire to help build a business focused on complex investments. Candidates must have an undergraduate degree from a major college or university with a strong GPA. The client will consider candidates with advanced degrees. They will not sponsor visas. Salary $200,000+bonus and reinvestment. Qualified candidates may forward a resume to our website. All inquiries will be treated confidentially.
