145. Associate, Special Situations Private Investment Fund

Our client is a multi-billion-dollar global special situations fund with long term locked up capital and lots of dry powder. They have a flat organizational structure and a highly regarded senior team of investors with deep experience in special situations and structured equity. They invest in creative, mainly private markets special situations that generate equity-like returns. They have a flexible mandate that includes complex and funky investments with equity-like returns. The team has an entrepreneurial culture with the opportunity to grow within the organization. Candidates should have 1-2 years of investment banking experience in M&A, Leveraged Finance, Restructuring, or Industrials plus 1-2 years of buyside experience investing in mezz, structured equity, special situations, distressed private equity, carveouts, or other esoteric investments. We will also consider candidates who joined a relevant buyside team straight out of college. Candidates must understand how to model complex, structured or equity-like investments. We cannot consider growth or long short equity backgrounds. The role requires hustle and drive and will provide significant learning and growth opportunities. Candidates should be personable and able to communicate effectively. This is a career track role but is not a post- MBA position. Salary: $200+ bonus.
